Our Family’s Natural Wellness Toolkit: What We’re Using and Loving Right Now
Over the past six years, as I’ve walked my own winding healing journey with Lyme disease, we’ve built this toolkit slowly and intentionally. Healing has been layered — sometimes gentle, sometimes deeply challenging — but every step continues to teach me more about what it really means to support my body, my home, and my family in daily life.
What I’m sharing here isn’t a trendy list or a pile of “shoulds.” These are real tools we use in our home. Many of them have been thoughtful (and in some cases, serious) investments in our health. They’re part of our family's rhythm now — not perfect, not prescriptive, but deeply supportive.
I hope this feels like a cozy conversation between friends, and maybe it gives you a few ideas for your own family’s wellness journey...
🌿 Nervous System & Mood Support
Supporting our nervous systems has been a huge focus in our home, especially through my healing process and daily parenting life.
Bioray Kids Calm & Happy Tinctures
We’ve been using both of these together for the kids, and I appreciate the gentle support they offer for emotional well-being and nervous system balance. Subtle, steady shifts — which is exactly what I hope for in daily life.
Lithium Orotate (5mg)
This low-dose mineral support has been helpful for both me and my family, supporting mood balance and calm. It’s a gentle form of lithium, very different from prescription versions, and it feels like a steadying force.
Folinic Acid (Seeking Health)
Folinic acid has been a game-changer for me, especially with MTHFR support. It’s a bioavailable form of folate that helps with everything from detoxification and DNA formation to neurotransmitter production and immune function. Unlike folic acid, which requires conversion, folinic acid is ready to go — and I feel the difference in my energy and mood.

🧽 Gut & Internal Detox Support
Gentle, consistent detox support has been essential in my healing journey.
Biocidin Liposomal
A trusted companion for gut health and immune support. I appreciate the blend of botanicals and the easy-to-use liposomal format.
Activated Charcoal
Always on hand for any digestive upsets or gentle detox support. Simple but powerful. When my friends reach out with a stomach virus tearing through their households.. this is the first thing I mention!
🌼 Home Detox Rituals
Creating simple home detox rituals feels grounding and supportive.
Castor Oil Wrap Kit
I love this kit for making castor oil packs easy and mess-free. It supports lymphatic flow and digestion, and feels like a nourishing ritual in the evenings. Castor oil is one of those timeless remedies with so many potential benefits — from supporting liver detoxification to reducing inflammation, encouraging healthy circulation, easing hormonal imbalances, and even soothing abdominal discomfort. When used regularly, it feels like such a gentle yet powerful support for the body’s natural healing rhythms.
Organic Castor Oil
I pair the wrap with this clean, hexane-free organic castor oil. Quality matters with castor oil, and I always choose organic for peace of mind.
🧂 Daily Nutrient, Hydration & Structural Support
These daily staples keep our family nourished and hydrated, and they’re easy to work into our routine.
LMNT Electrolyte Mixes
Clean, simple hydration support — especially important here in the Florida heat. No unnecessary fillers, just what we need. 1000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium and 60 mg magnesium in one little powder pack. So easy to mix into a water bottle! I like to hop around with flavors personally, but the citrus or watermelon I think are my top 2! This multi-sample pack makes it easy to try them all out before you commit to a flavor in bulk.
Twice Daily Multi
My go-to multivitamin for steady, foundational support every day. This is a huge 240 capsule pack and yes, you take 2x day as the name suggests. They do have smaller packs but this is the most economical as it lasts 4 months for just me.
Probiotic Supplement
Probiotics were an absolute must for me while I was on antibiotics to heal from Lyme. I’ve tried a lot of different ones over the years, and this is one that my functional medicine doctor recommended. It’s also the one I’ve noticed the most positive effect with — though I still like to mix it up from time to time. Keeping my gut supported has been a non-negotiable part of my wellness routine.

High-Dose Vitamin D (50,000 IU)
Vitamin D is one of the most underestimated nutrients for overall health. Despite living in Florida, many people are surprisingly deficient. Vitamin D supports immunity, mood, hormone balance, and more. I take a high-dose supplement (50,000 IU) because the "normal" ranges many doctors suggest are not necessarily optimal for well-being. Of course, always test your levels and work with a practitioner to find your right dose.
Collagen Supplement
Collagen production naturally declines as we age, and it impacts way more than skin — joints, connective tissue, gut lining, you name it. After six months of daily use, I’ve noticed real benefits in my joints, skin, and overall resilience.
Protein Smoothie Mix
Smoothies are a daily favorite in our house! This grass-fed whey protein includes collagen, is sweetened with stevia and monk fruit (my go-tos), and tastes great. Vanilla and chocolate are our favorites — simple and versatile. We love adding wild blueberries for an antioxidant boost!
NutriBullet Blender
Our NutriBullet has seriously earned its spot on the counter. It’s perfect for quick smoothies, and I love the different cup sizes for family sharing or solo blends. Plus, I use it for way more than just smoothies.
💧 Clean Water: Everyday Wellness Starts Here
Water quality was one of the first things we looked at when we got serious about creating a healthy home.
We use AquaTru water filtration systems — the larger countertop version for family use, and the carafe version upstairs for convenience. They give me peace of mind, filtering out contaminants like heavy metals and microplastics.

🌬 Environmental Wellness & Grounding Support
Creating a supportive home environment goes beyond what we consume — it’s about the space we live in, too.
Somavedic Devices
We have two Somavedic units in our home and I’m convinced they make a difference. These devices help harmonize EMFs and support energetic balance in our environment.
Grounding Mat with Multimeter
This simple grounding mat helps replicate the benefits of direct earth contact, which I love for days when we’re inside more. And the multimeter is a great bonus for actually seeing the effect in action!
💛 Mindful Parenting Support
Supporting emotional wellness in our home goes beyond products — it’s about mindset, too. Parenting is a huge part of our daily energy, and having resources that ground and guide me has been invaluable.
Good Inside by Dr. Becky Kennedy
This book has truly shaped the way I approach parenting. It’s helped me meet tough moments with more patience and understanding, and I often return to it for grounding wisdom. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a compassionate framework.
Loving Them Fully: Astrology for Parenting Guide
This is a resource I created with so much heart. It helps parents understand their child’s emotional needs (Moon), how they experience love and self-worth (Venus), and their core personality (Sun). I also walk you through their rising sign, energetic patterns (Mars), and even their sense of home and security (4th house). It’s full of gentle reflection prompts to help you meet your child where they are and nurture a loving, connected relationship.
I believe deeply in the power of understanding our children’s unique design — not to label them, but to love them more fully for who they are.
🌿 Everyday Essentials: Oils We Love
There are honestly a billion essential oils we use and love for different reasons, but if you’re just starting out, I always recommend beginning with lavender and tea tree oil. They’re versatile, accessible, and cover so many everyday needs.
Lavender Oil
We reach for lavender all the time — it’s our go-to for soothing insect bites, calming skin irritation, and creating a peaceful environment. I love diffusing it in the evenings or adding a few drops to baths for relaxation.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree is one of my staples, especially for immune support and clearing up sinus congestion. It’s also great for minor skin breakouts and can be diffused for purifying the air.
We mostly use doTERRA oils, but there are several reputable brands at different price points that I trust and will often link for you. Quality matters with oils, so I always recommend choosing high-quality, well-tested options.
Essential oils have become such an easy, natural part of our home rhythm — they’re like little wellness helpers in a bottle.
For anyone new to essential oils — or even if you’ve been using them for years — having a trusted reference book makes such a difference. This is my go-to book for looking up practically any ailment and finding essential oil remedies alongside other natural supports. It’s empowering to have on hand and helps take the guesswork out of daily use.

🌿 Daily Rhythms & Gentle Practices
No toolkit is complete without the simple, daily rhythms that anchor us:
- Prioritizing hydration and minerals
- Herbal teas in the afternoon
- Getting sunshine every day, whenever possible — even in Florida, many of us are more deficient in vitamin D than we realize. Daily natural sunlight is so important for mood, immune support, and overall vitality.
- Movement and rest, listening to our bodies
- Quiet moments away from screens
- Speaking intentional words into our day
These gentle practices are often the most powerful of all.
🧡 Reflection: Creating Our Home Sanctuary
At the end of the day, our home isn’t about perfection. It’s a place where we try, gently, to create a sense of ease and balance. Healing from Lyme has taught me that wellness is deeply personal. What supports one person may not feel right for another — and that’s okay.
This isn’t about doing everything. It’s about finding the simple things that feel good, right now. And maybe letting this list spark a few ideas for your own journey.
If you have favorite tools and rituals in your home, I’d love to hear them. Let’s keep learning and supporting each other along the way.
