Help your middle, high school or homeschool student gain real-world creative skills that set them apart for college, careers, and creative entrepreneurship. With 1:1 mentorship, students will gain both new skills and a professional portfolio of work to showcase their growth and potential.

How This Works

Many students have strong creative ideas but need guidance in organizing and developing them into structured projects. This program provides step-by-step instruction to help students build tangible skills and complete meaningful work.

What Students Learn and Create

Photography

Learn the fundamentals of composition, lighting, and editing, with a focus on creating images that feel intentional and well-composed.

Graphic & Website Design

Design layouts, choose typography and color palettes, and build a cohesive visual presence using modern digital tools.

Writing for the Web (Copy & SEO Basics)

Learn how to structure content clearly, write with purpose, and understand the basics of how content is found and read online.

Portfolio Development

Organize projects into a clean, professional format that can be shared for school, applications, or personal use.

Program Format

Instruction is offered in a structured format, including one-on-one sessions and small group instruction. Sessions may be conducted online, with select in-person options available for local students.

Each session includes guided instruction, hands-on project work, and feedback to support skill development and completion of student projects.

Outcome

Students will complete creative projects, including a functional website and/or portfolio, demonstrating their understanding of digital design, communication, and presentation skills.

Meet Bonnie

Hi, I’m Bonnie Sorsby, the founder of Photo + Design Company. For over a decade, I’ve worked in photography, branding, and design helping businesses and creatives bring their ideas to life. Along the way, I discovered how much I love teaching and guiding others, especially students who are just beginning to explore their creative paths.

As a homeschool parent myself here in Florida, I know how valuable it is for teens to have access to electives that are both practical and inspiring. That’s why I created this program to give students opportunities for developing real-world creative skills and building confidence in their abilities.
