October 2026 Astrology Forecast: Major Transits & Dates
October 2026 belongs to Venus. She turns retrograde on the 3rd, meets the Sun at the exact midpoint of that retrograde on the 23rd, and reverses out of Scorpio entirely two days later. Pluto turns direct in the middle of the month, Mercury turns retrograde at the end of it, and the two busiest days of the year for Scorpio land on the 23rd and 24th.
Venus Stations Retrograde, October 3
Venus turns retrograde at 8°29′ Scorpio in the early hours of October 3. Venus retrogrades roughly every nineteen months, and this is the first one in Scorpio since 2018.
What makes this one unusual is that Venus does not stay. She reverses back out of Scorpio on the 25th and finishes the retrograde in Libra, her own sign, which means the review starts in the deep water and ends on home ground. Venus in Scorpio 2026 covers the whole four month cycle, including why she leaves and what comes back when she returns in December.
Mars opposes Pluto the same day, exact at 3°06′ of Leo and Aquarius. That opposition is the spine of a T-square that stands through the first two weeks, and October’s faster planets take turns at the apex of it.
Whether this retrograde touches you depends on where 8 degrees of Scorpio falls in your chart, and whether anything of your own sits near it. An empty house is a quiet six weeks. A planet at 8 degrees Scorpio is a different autumn entirely.
Your Beautiful Birth Chart gives you your placements by sign and house, your aspects, and transits you can move forward and backward through by date. You can find 8 degrees Scorpio in your own wheel and watch Venus cross it.
The Configurations Running Underneath October
Two patterns hold for most of the month and the fast planets rotate through them.
The Mars and Pluto opposition forms a T-square with Mercury at the apex from the 1st to the 7th, then with Venus at the apex from the 2nd through the 13th. A T-square is a standoff with a pressure point, and the pressure point here is whichever planet is being asked to resolve something it did not start.
The Neptune and Uranus sextile forms a yod with Mercury at the apex from the 2nd to the 5th, then with Venus at the apex from the 14th to the 22nd. A yod asks for an adjustment instead of a fight, and it often arrives as a situation you did not choose and have to respond to anyway.
Mercury and Venus taking the same two focal points one after the other is the shape of the month. The background does not move. What changes is which planet is standing in the hot seat.
The tightest configuration of all arrives at the end, when the full moon in Taurus squares Pluto almost exactly.
New Moon in Libra, October 10
A new moon at 17°22′ Libra at 11:50 in the morning, three days into the Venus retrograde and in the sign Venus rules. Beginnings started under a retrograde ruler often need a second pass, which is worth knowing before you commit to one.
It also sits opposite Saturn in Aries and sextile Jupiter in Leo, which is a fair description of the month: something opens, something asks you to prove it first. The new moon in Libra has the rising sign breakdown.
Pluto Stations Direct, October 15
Pluto turns direct at 3°04′ Aquarius late on October 15, ending the retrograde that began on May 6. Pluto moves so slowly that a station registers as a change of pressure, and what has been working inward since May starts working outward again. Pluto retrograde in Aquarius covers that cycle.
The 23rd and 24th
Three things stack into about thirty hours.
The Sun enters Scorpio at 5:37 in the morning on October 23, which puts the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio together. That is the only stretch all year the three of them share the sign, and it lasts two days.
At 11:44 that night, Venus meets the Sun at 0°45′ Scorpio. This is the cazimi, the exact middle of the Venus retrograde, when Venus sits at the heart of the Sun and, by the old reasoning, is clarified by it. Whatever the retrograde has been circling since the 3rd reaches its turning point here.
Three and a half hours later, at 3:12 on the morning of the 24th, Mercury stations retrograde at 20°59′ Scorpio. Two planets that govern how we value things and how we talk about them both hit their pivot inside one night. The evergreen Mercury retrograde guide covers how to work with that one.
Two pivots in one night land somewhere specific for you. Find which house holds 0 degrees Scorpio and which holds 21 degrees, and you know where the cazimi and the Mercury station are each working. Your Beautiful Birth Chart will show you both.
Venus Leaves Scorpio, October 25
Venus crosses back into Libra at 5:09 in the morning on October 25, two days after the Sun arrives in Scorpio. She finishes the retrograde in her own sign and stations direct there on November 13.
Full Moon in Taurus, October 26
A full moon at 2°46′ Taurus just after midnight on October 26, opposite the Scorpio stellium. Taurus and Scorpio is the axis of what you hold alone against what you hold with other people, and a full moon there with Venus retrograde asks the question with unusual directness.
This one is also the sharpest configuration of the month. The Moon and Sun both square Pluto at 3°06′ Aquarius, with an orb of a third of a degree, which makes a T-square with Pluto holding the apex. Pluto stationed direct eleven days earlier, so the planet at the pressure point has just started moving forward again. The Taurus full moon has more.
The Bigger Picture
October is built around one planet. Venus opens the month by turning back, spends three weeks reviewing, reaches her turning point at the cazimi on the 23rd, and leaves the sign on the 25th. Everything else arranges itself around that.
The thing to watch is the 23rd into the 24th. A cazimi and a station within one night, inside the only two days of the year the Sun, Mercury and Venus are all in Scorpio, is the kind of convergence that does not repeat for a long time.
Every date above is in the transit calendar, and you can subscribe to it so they land in whatever calendar app you already use. Tick the event types you want, lunations, eclipses, ingresses, retrogrades, solstices, cazimis, void of course moons, and it keeps itself current as new dates are added. No email required.
If you keep meeting the same situation every time Venus turns back, that is worth looking at directly. Your Personal Pattern reads the recurring architecture of your chart, the themes and tensions that keep producing the same circumstances, so a repeating transit stops feeling like weather and starts reading as structure.
This month sits inside a bigger year. The major astrology transits of 2026 has the whole year, the outer planet shifts, the eclipse cycle and the retrogrades, in one place.
