What Sets October 2026 Up, in the Last Week of September
Both of October’s biggest features are already in place before the month starts, and the last week of September is where they arrive. If the first days of the month feel like walking into something already in progress, that is because you are.
The full moon in Aries on September 26 is the last uncomplicated beat in the sequence. Mars is still in the final degrees of Cancer that day, guarding the house, hovering, taking things personally, and it crosses into Leo the following evening. That ingress is what builds the opposition to Pluto holding the whole first half of October together, so the T-square running underneath the month begins forming on September 27, before October has started at all.
Mercury leaves Libra for Scorpio on the 30th, which is the other piece. What makes this one unusual is that Venus does not stay. She reverses back out of Scorpio on the 25th and finishes the retrograde in Libra, her own sign, which means the review starts in the deep water and ends on home ground. The Configurations Running Underneath October
Two patterns hold for most of the month and the fast planets rotate through them.

A new moon at 17°22′ Libra at 11:50 in the morning, three days into the Venus retrograde and in the sign Venus rules. Beginnings started under a retrograde ruler often need a second pass, which is worth knowing before you commit to one.

Pluto Stations Direct, October 15

The 23rd and 24th
Three things stack into about thirty hours.
The Sun enters Scorpio at 5:37 in the morning on October 23, which puts the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio together. That is the only stretch all year the three of them share the sign, and it lasts two days.
