Major Astrological Transits 2027: Every Date and What They Mean

On February 20, 2026, Saturn and Neptune met within half a degree of each other at the very first degree of Aries, the point traditional astrology treats as the start of everything. Five months later they both turned retrograde, Neptune on July 7 and Saturn on July 26, and spent the rest of the year backing slowly over the same handful of degrees.

That is why 2026 has the particular flavor it does. Something very large was clearly underway and almost nobody could say what it was, and every time it looked like beginning it reversed. A year that kept almost starting.

Then in December they both turned forward, forty eight hours apart, Saturn on the 10th and Neptune on the 12th. 2027 picks up from there, and the first thing it does is pull them apart.

What 2026 Handed to 2027

Three things carry over, and they set the shape of the year.

The Saturn and Neptune conjunction is finished and its consequences are not. A conjunction is a beginning, and the years after it are where the thing that began turns out to be something. 2026 was the meeting and the long review. 2027 is the first year both planets spend moving forward, which is when whatever was seeded at that first degree of Aries starts producing results you can point at. Uranus has already left Taurus for Gemini. It changed signs in 2026 and spends 2027 settling into the early degrees, so the disruption moves from what you own to how you think and talk and who you believe.

Jupiter is retrograde in Leo, having turned back on December 13, 2026. It stays that way until April, so the first third of 2027 is still reviewing whatever expanded in the back half of 2026 before anything new gets to grow.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries: the Year They Separate

Saturn starts 2027 at 8 degrees of Aries and finishes at 21. Neptune starts at 1 and finishes at 3. Saturn is walking away and Neptune is staying more or less where it is.

They started the decade in the same place. Their conjunction in February 2026 sat at the very beginning of the zodiac, and a Saturn and Neptune meeting is famously difficult to describe while it is happening, because Saturn is building an edge and Neptune is dissolving one. People often report that period as something enormous going on that nobody can name.

What you feel is two demands that used to arrive as one. Saturn wants an answer from you: what did you build, does it hold, what is it costing. Neptune stays at the start of the sign taking apart whatever definition you walked in with, and it has no interest at all in your timeline.

So you may find yourself decisive about one whole area of your life and completely unable to decide anything about another, in the same week, and assume something has gone wrong with you. Nothing has. Saturn and Neptune split apart in December. Only Saturn wants a decision from you this year.

Uranus in Gemini Settles In

Uranus spends all of 2027 in the first seven degrees of Gemini, stationing direct on February 8 at 1°41′ and retrograde again on September 15 at 9°57′. This is the beginning of a long passage that runs into the 2030s.

Uranus in Gemini goes after how you take information in. What you count as a source, how fast you believe a thing, who you have been trusting out of habit and have not checked in years. The last time Uranus was in Gemini it stayed from 1941 to 1949, which should tell you something about the scale. You are least likely to feel this one personally and most likely to find it has changed the conditions everything else is happening inside.

For 2027 specifically, the useful thing is that Uranus stays in the early degrees. Whichever house Gemini rules in your chart is the one being rewired, and it is being rewired at the start, where the work is disorienting more often than it is dramatic.

Pluto in Aquarius Barely Moves

Pluto covers about a degree and a half across the whole of 2027, from 4°21′ to 5°56′ Aquarius, with a retrograde from May 8 to October 17. That is the slowest thing in the sky and the easiest to dismiss because so little appears to happen.

Grinding is usually the word for it. Pluto in Aquarius is a long restructuring of collective power, technology and who gets to participate, and 2027 sits somewhere in its early middle. If you have anything in the first six degrees of the fixed signs, this may well be the year it gets worked on, and you will probably describe it afterwards as a period you went through and never as a thing that happened.

Jupiter Moves from Leo to Virgo on July 26

Jupiter is the fastest of the slow planets and the one whose change of sign you are most likely to notice in an ordinary year.

It spends the first half of 2027 finishing Leo, stationing direct on April 12 at 17 degrees after a retrograde that began in December 2026. Then on July 26 it crosses into Virgo, where it stays for the rest of the year and into 2028.

Jupiter in Leo grows what you are willing to be seen enjoying. Jupiter in Virgo grows what you are willing to improve, and it sits in its detriment there, so whatever it hands you usually comes with conditions. If something got big and visible for you across 2026 and the early part of 2027, the back half of the year is usually where you are asked to make it work.

The 2027 Eclipses

Five eclipses, in two clusters.

February 6 and 20. A solar eclipse at 17°38′ Aquarius, then a lunar eclipse at 2°06′ Virgo. The February pair has its own detail worth reading, and I have covered both the annular solar eclipse and the February 2027 eclipses at length.

July 18, August 2 and August 17. Three in a row: a lunar eclipse at 25°49′ Capricorn, a solar eclipse at 9°55′ Leo, then a lunar eclipse at 24°12′ Aquarius. Three eclipses inside a month is the busier configuration, and the Leo solar eclipse in the first half of August is often the one described as a turning point later.

2027 and the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix

The astrology is one layer. The reason 2027 keeps coming up in conversations that have nothing to do with planets is a separate cycle entirely, and it comes from Human Design.

We are moving out of the Cross of Planning, which has shaped global structures, economies and collective security for more than four hundred years, and into the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix. The short version is that the era built on external stability gives way to one built on self-sovereignty. Alongside it sits the mutation of the Solar Plexus, which is the slow shift out of reacting emotionally and into emotional awareness.

That belongs next to the Saturn and Neptune story, because the two describe the same motion from opposite directions. Saturn and Neptune met at the first degree of Aries, the beginning of the zodiac, and Aries is the sign of the self as a fact. The Sleeping Phoenix describes external structures dissolving and the individual becoming the load-bearing unit. Structures loosening while the self is asked to hold more weight is one event, and the 2027 shift covers it at length.

The Numerology of 2027: a Universal 11 Year

2 plus 0 plus 2 plus 7 is 11, and numerology keeps 11 as a master number instead of reducing it to 2. So 2027 reads two ways, and both are useful.
