Two Eclipses in February 2027: Both Axes at Once

February 2027 holds two eclipses, two weeks apart, and they belong to different stories.

The first is an annular solar eclipse on February 6 at 17 degrees Aquarius, sitting three degrees from the North Node. That one is the headline. The second is a penumbral lunar eclipse on February 20 at 2 degrees Virgo, and it is the faintest grade of eclipse there is, the kind you would miss entirely if you were only watching the sky.

What makes the month worth paying attention to is that between them, both axes get touched. The Leo and Aquarius axis is where the nodes now live and where the next eighteen months of eclipses are running. The Virgo and Pisces axis is the one we just finished, the one that ran from September 2024 through to the lunar eclipse at 4 degrees Pisces in August 2026. That series is over. And then in February its signs come back one more time, faintly, underneath a cycle that has already moved on.

Both carry a twelfth part in Virgo. Times are Eastern. All figures computed from the JPL DE440s ephemeris and checked against my transit calendar.

February 20, 2027. The Moon at 2°03′ Virgo, opposite the Sun in Pisces, while the nodes sit in Aquarius and Leo. That distance from the node is why this one is only penumbral.

Why Both Axes Show Up in the Same Month

The nodes moved into Aquarius and Leo on July 26, 2026, which is what set the current eclipse series running. Eclipses happen when a new or full moon falls close enough to one of the lunar nodes for the three bodies to line up in three dimensions, so the nodes are what decide which signs a series works through, and these eclipses are read here in whole sign houses.

On February 6 the Sun and Moon meet at 17 degrees Aquarius with the North Node at 20 degrees Aquarius. Three degrees of separation is tight, which is why that eclipse is annular and why it carries weight.

On February 20 the Full Moon lands at 2 degrees Virgo with the Sun opposite in Pisces. The nodes are still in Aquarius and Leo, so the Moon is roughly twelve degrees away from the South Node when it opposes the Sun. That distance is what makes it penumbral, the Moon slipping through the outer edge of Earth’s shadow and dimming a little without ever going dark.

So the signs say Virgo and Pisces while the nodes say Leo and Aquarius. Both are true at once, and both are doing something.

The Detail That Ties Them Together

Then there is this. Both February eclipses carry a twelfth part in Virgo.

A twelfth part divides each sign into twelve segments of two and a half degrees, mapping each one onto a sign in order. It is an old technique that shows a second layer underneath a placement, and it often names what a chart is working on beneath the obvious story.

The Aquarius solar eclipse on the 6th has its twelfth part in Virgo. The Virgo lunar eclipse on the 20th has its twelfth part in Virgo as well. So the sign we thought we were finished with sits underneath the new cycle’s opening eclipse, and then arrives on the surface two weeks later. Virgo runs through the whole month, in the foreground once and in the background twice.

That is a strange and specific thing for a month to do, and it is the kind of detail that convinces me an ending is rarely as clean as the calendar makes it look.

Self and Community, and Being Pushed Into It

The Leo and Aquarius axis asks one question in two directions. Leo holds the individual, the particular person with their own face and voice and creative signature. Aquarius holds the collective, the group, the system, the thing that works because many people participate in it. Neither one functions well without the other, and most of us are considerably more comfortable at one end than the other.

An eclipse on the Aquarius side with the North Node conjunct is pointing toward the collective end. That means contribution, participation, and the willingness to be one voice among many. For anyone who has built an identity on being singular, that reads as a demotion until it stops reading that way.

The Virgo material underneath is where it gets specific. Virgo is discernment, refinement, and the work of making something genuinely useful. Pisces opposite is dissolution, faith, and the willingness to stop measuring. So the question February keeps putting is whether what you contribute is any good, and whether you can tell the difference between real standards and the perfectionism that stops you offering anything at all.

Jupiter has been in Leo since June 2026, expanding the individual end of that axis the entire time. Expansion of the self is pleasant. What follows is usually the part where the self has to be useful to somebody, and eclipses have a way of arranging that whether or not it was on the plan.

The February 2027 Eclipses for Your Rising Sign

These use whole sign houses. If you do not know your rising sign, you can find it with my free birth chart.

February 2027 Eclipses for Aries Rising

The February 6 eclipse lands in your 11th house, which holds friendship, networks, and the future you are moving toward. With the North Node sitting right there, this is the most pointed version of the collective question anyone gets this month. Something about who you belong with, and what you are building alongside other people, opens here. Two weeks later the lunar eclipse arrives in your 6th house of work, health and daily routine, with the Sun opposite in your 12th. That pairing asks whether your ordinary days can carry what you have just signed up for. Aries rising commits fast and works out the logistics afterward. February puts the logistics in front of you before you have finished being excited.

February 2027 Eclipses for Taurus Rising

Career and public standing take the February 6 eclipse, and with the node conjunct it, whatever begins near it has staying power. This is a genuine turn in what you are known for, and Aquarius in the 10th points it toward something collective, collaborative, or built for a group. The February 20 lunar eclipse arrives in your 5th house of creativity, romance and play, opposite the Sun in your 11th. So the month runs a line between the work that gets seen and the thing you make for the joy of it. Taurus rising builds slowly and well. The question is whether the public version of your work still has any pleasure left in it.

February 2027 Eclipses for Gemini Rising

Belief, meaning, travel and higher learning are your 9th house material, and the solar eclipse opens there with the node attached. Something you thought about the world starts to shift, and the Aquarius flavor means it arrives through people, ideas in circulation, or a community you did not expect to teach you anything. On February 20 the lunar eclipse drops into your 4th house of home and family with the Sun in your 10th. Where you live and what you do for a living pull against each other for a fortnight. Uranus has been in Gemini on your rising sign since 2026, so you are already mid-revision. This month tells you which parts of the revision were structural.

February 2027 Eclipses for Cancer Rising

Your 8th house takes the February 6 eclipse, which puts shared money, intimacy and everything held jointly with another person at the center of the month. The node conjunct here means something opens, and Aquarius asks you to treat the arrangement as a system. The lunar eclipse two weeks later arrives in your 3rd house of communication and immediate surroundings, opposite the Sun in your 9th. Something needs saying, and the framework you would normally reach for to say it is under review at the same time. Cancer rising protects first and speaks second. February reverses that order and it will feel uncomfortable before it feels useful.

February 2027 Eclipses for Leo Rising

This is your axis, and February works it hard. The solar eclipse lands in your 7th house of partnership, directly opposite your rising sign, with the North Node there. Someone arrives, or an existing relationship reorganizes around a different premise. Jupiter has been in Leo expanding you since June, and the 7th house eclipse is where that expansion meets another person’s needs. The lunar eclipse on February 20 lands in your 2nd house of money and self-worth, opposite the Sun in your 8th. So the partnership question and the money question arrive in the same month. What you are worth and who you are with have always been intertwined, and February stops letting you handle them separately.

February 2027 Eclipses for Virgo Rising

The February 20 eclipse lands on your own rising sign, which makes February personal in a way it is for nobody else. That lunar eclipse is penumbral and faint, and it still sits on your Ascendant with the Sun opposite in your 7th house of partnership. Something about how you present, and who you present to, comes to a head. Before that, the February 6 solar eclipse opens your 6th house of work, health and daily systems, with the node attached, so a new way of structuring your days begins near the 6th and gets tested on the 20th. Virgo rising improves things by refining them. This month the thing being refined is you.

February 2027 Eclipses for Libra Rising

Creativity, romance, children and play hold the February 6 eclipse for you, with the North Node conjunct. That is an unusually generous placement for an eclipse, and Aquarius in the 5th points your self-expression toward something with other people in it: collaboration, an audience, a project that only works if it is shared. The lunar eclipse on February 20 settles into your 12th house, the least visible ground in the chart, opposite the Sun in your 6th. So the month opens loud and closes quiet. Whatever the 5th house eclipse started, the second one asks you to sit with it privately before deciding what it is.

February 2027 Eclipses for Scorpio Rising

Home, family and foundation take the February 6 eclipse, and the node conjunct marks this as a beginning. Aquarius in the 4th often looks like a household changing shape, a move that makes the living situation stranger and better, or a family arrangement renegotiated on terms nobody used before. On February 20 the lunar eclipse arrives in your 11th house of friendship and community, opposite the Sun in your 5th. Who you belong to gets weighed against what you make. Scorpio rising already knows how to sit with material other people avoid, and February gives you plenty to sit with.

February 2027 Eclipses for Sagittarius Rising

The solar eclipse opens your 3rd house of thinking, speaking, learning and the daily traffic of your immediate world, with the node attached. Something you have been meaning to say, write, learn or start finally moves, and Aquarius means it moves through a network. Two weeks on, the lunar eclipse climbs into your 10th house of career and public standing, opposite the Sun in your 4th. What you said in early February shows up in your public life by the end of it. Sagittarius rising speaks first and considers the consequences later, which this month happens to be the right order.

February 2027 Eclipses for Capricorn Rising

Money, resources and self-worth carry the February 6 eclipse, and with the node there it opens a new relationship with earning. Aquarius in the 2nd points it toward something unconventional: several streams, income tied to a group or a network, or a skill you had treated as incidental starting to pay. The February 20 lunar eclipse reaches your 9th house of belief and meaning, opposite the Sun in your 3rd. So the month asks what you are worth and what you believe, in that order, and it is not a coincidence that those two arrive together.

February 2027 Eclipses for Aquarius Rising

The February 6 eclipse sits on your own rising sign with the North Node conjunct it, which is the most direct placement anyone gets this month. Appearance, manner, how you arrive and what you are willing to be known for all come up for revision, and unlike most eclipses this one points forward. Pluto has been moving through Aquarius on this same degree territory, so the person walking into February is already partway through becoming someone else. The lunar eclipse on the 20th lands in your 8th house of shared resources and intimacy, opposite the Sun in your 2nd. You change, and then the arrangements you are inside have to change with you.

February 2027 Eclipses for Pisces Rising

Your 12th house takes the February 6 eclipse, which makes the biggest event of the month the least visible one for you. Rest, solitude, dreams, and the material running below your own notice are where the node is pointing, and Aquarius there often surfaces through a group or a collective concern that turns out to be personal. On February 20 the lunar eclipse falls in your 7th house of partnership with the Sun on your own rising sign. That one is public and relational and impossible to ignore. The Virgo and Pisces series that just ended was yours more than anyone’s, and this is its last word.

What to Do With an Eclipse Month

Eclipses accelerate. They compress what would have taken a year into a fortnight, and they surface things with more force and more finality than an ordinary lunation would. The useful response is to notice what arrives and to hold off on deciding what it means for a few weeks, because eclipse information keeps unfolding after the event.

The February 6 eclipse is the one to plan around. Annular, tight to the node, in the sign the next eighteen months belong to. Whatever begins near it usually carries.

The February 20 eclipse asks for less. Penumbral eclipses are subtle by nature, and this one is a long way from the node. Treat it as a full moon with an echo in it. Something from the Virgo and Pisces years may resurface for a last look, and the point of it is completion.

See Where These Eclipses Land in Your Own Chart

Rising sign gets you the house. Your own chart gets you the rest: which planets these eclipses are touching, what they rule for you, and what is already sitting in the houses they fall in. Your Beautiful Birth Chart shows your placements by sign and house, and you can move the date forward to February 2027 and watch both eclipses arrive against your own placements.

The Virgo and Pisces eclipse series ended in August 2026. February 2027 is the postscript, arriving after the book closed, quiet enough that most people will not connect it to anything. The Leo and Aquarius series is the one now running, and it has another year to go.

Both are in the same month. That is unusual, and it is worth watching what each one turns up.
