Affordable Original Art for Sale, Painted in Palm Beach

Affordable original art is a one of a kind painting, made by hand by a real artist, priced so a regular person can actually bring it home. No print, no poster, no reproduction. The only one there is.

I feel art is for everyone and a little joy goes a long way with art. Not everyone has space for large art, too. A little pop or interesting piece in a sweet little spot is something I personally love to experience in my home, and so I love to collect small works.

So that’s how I price my own paintings. Most of what’s in my shop right now is under $300, and plenty of it is under $150. Here’s what that actually looks like.

What Original Art Actually Costs

People are often surprised. They assume an original painting means thousands of dollars, so they settle for a print. And sure, some originals do cost that much. But a lot of real, signed-by-a-human art lives at prices closer to a nice dinner out or a new throw pillow habit.

Size and surface do most of the work. A small painting on paper takes less time and fewer materials than a big canvas, so it costs less. That doesn’t make it a lesser painting. Some of my favorite pieces in my own house are tiny.

Original Paintings Under $150

This is where I keep my little studies, small florals and the pieces where I’m trying something new. They’re perfect for a first original, a gift or that one spot on the bookshelf that needs a little something. You can see them all in my Under $150 collection.

The jar series makes me laugh every time. Swear Jar, Secret Stash Jar and Patience Jar are all flowers, but the names say a lot about my week.

The $150 to $300 Sweet Spot

Most of my work lives right here. These are mostly 9×12 and 11×14 paintings on paper, which is honestly my favorite size to paint. They’re big enough to make a statement on a wall or a shelf, and small enough to fit in real homes.

A nice bonus with paper pieces in these sizes: 9×12 and 11×14 are standard frame sizes, so you can pick up a ready-made frame you love and skip the custom framing bill.

Larger Canvases, $300 to $600

When you’re ready for something with more presence, these are bigger canvases and larger works on paper. Still very much in the affordable range for original art, especially for a painting that can anchor a whole room.

And yes, I do paint big statement pieces too, like Main Squeeze and Life is Too Short or Whatever. Those take a lot more of me, so they’re priced like it. You can browse everything in my original artwork.

Why an Original Is Worth It

  • There’s only one. Nobody else on your street, or anywhere, has the same painting.
  • You can see the hand in it. Brushstrokes, drips, layers. Prints flatten all of that out.
  • It has a story. You know who made it, and you can ask them about it.
  • You’re supporting a real artist. Your purchase goes straight back into paint, paper and more paintings.

Not Quite Your Style?

That’s completely okay. Art is personal, and the right piece is the one that makes you happy every time you walk past it.

If you’re looking for something different from my style, I’d honestly love to help. I would be happy to connect you with local artists in Palm Beach County that I am personally familiar with, and I know many artists across the country too. Just send me a note through my contact form and tell me what you’re looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions About Affordable Original Art

What counts as affordable original art?

It depends on your budget, but for most people it means a real, one of a kind painting priced from about $50 to a few hundred dollars. Most of my available paintings fall in that range.

Why are some original paintings so much cheaper than others?

Size, surface and time. Small paintings on paper take less time and material than large canvases. The artist’s reputation plays a part, too.

Is a small original better than a large print?

If you love the painting, yes. A small original has real texture, color and presence that a print can’t copy, and it can hold its own in the right spot.

Do your paper paintings come framed?

They come unframed, which keeps the price down and lets you pick a frame you love. The common sizes, like 9×12 and 11×14, fit standard ready-made frames.

Can you recommend other artists?

Yes. If my style isn’t what you’re after, reach out through my contact form and I’ll point you toward artists I know in Palm Beach County and around the country.
